Australian Idol 6, Final 8 Results: Weekly Tear Us Apart
October 13th 2008 06:47
Last week, while the elimination wasn't shocking, the bottom 3 overall was an unpleasant surprise. For the first time the whole audience didn't clap when the hosts announced that the 6 people who were safe would be practicing another song. Here's to relive that moment:
Here we go, Chrislyn Mark Roshani...................... .........all safe!
Wes.......................... .safe as well!
Finally safe is........................... .Luke
Bottom 3: Sophie, Teale, Thanh
Thanh reprises Linkin Park absolutely without the piano. He sings better too this time around. Sophie is next, and says hello to audience, reprises Silverchair without sitting on the stool. Teale is next without the guitar. Voting lines reopen again.
Kyle: Thanh did a better job, if he did that last night, he wouldn't be in the bottom 3.
Marcia: I agree, Teale too did a good job, Sophie had a pitch problem but I understand she's very nervous.
Dicko: Well I look at you guys no longer as contestants but artists, so hopefully you all have a good future.
Teale reveals that INXS adviced him to play the guitar in the beginning and then get it off and start owning the stage. But he didnt do any of that. He says it's hard because it's not in his personality. Also, there's a guitar feature both at the beginning and the end of the song, and he says it's hard to do it within 1.5 minutes if he decides to abandon the guitar by the middle of the song, and then try to put it back again. Marcia encourages Teale to own up the stage, and he shouldn't feel guilty and worried that people might feel cheated since Teale thinks it isn't his forte to move around the stage.
Sophie thinks it's a bummer to be in the bottom 3. She says that 'not showing her personality' is not her conscious decision, it's just who she is, and she doesn't know what to do with it. Dicko gives her an advice.
Kyle says that Thanh tends to micromanage everything like a math quiz. He says people already like Thanh, so what's the point of trying hard to make people liking him.
This week, Mark wins the performance of the night award.
A caller asks what's with the scar on Mark's head. Mark says when he was 6 his head got bitten by a German Shepherd, that wasn't a joke.
Behind the Scenes, Chrislyn reveals that being the youngest contestant left and everybody else left is over 18, she feels lonely. She doesnt think her jokes are mature enough for the others, when they constatnly talk about night life and stuff. She also misses her home, and she thinks that partially affects her performance lately. Kyle tells her the more popular you are, the more isolated you are, that's the reality of being a professional singer. She has to learn to do something to get through her lonely times.
A next caller is asking Wes who he wants to perform with. Besides Bono, he wants to perform with John Lennon.
Another caller asks Marcia is she's sick of being the 'nice judge'. Marcia says it's better to be nice than being a bitch,
Another caller asks Kyle how's his new married life. He says when he dissed a contestant on his radio, his wife and the sisters would not speak to him. But he's not worried because she's told what to do by him.
Jessica Mauboy is performing Running Back. Great black shiny mini dress. That single is at no.11 on the ARIA chart presently.
Here we go, will be back next week is...............................Sophie!
Bottom 2: Teale and Thanh
Dicko: Whoever gets through, stop playing safe
Marcia: skip me.
Kyle: Thanh is going, as a kiss of death to Teale.
Going home is.............................................Thanh.
I thought Teale for sure is tossed, this is his third time in the bottom 2.
Next week is Motown night, and Guy Sebastian will be the mentor and guest judge.
